"It could be as the Times speculated. The marketplace is too crowded with celebrity news, since both Celebrity Living and Elle Girl closed earlier this year. Or maybe it’s because advertisers are diverting their ad dollars online where more and more teens are congregating. Or maybe it’s because teens are simply reading less than they used to. That’s an ominous trend for all teen media and the adult print media waiting for them to grow up. Or maybe it’s something else.

Is it remotely possible that teenage Americans are losing interest in celebrities? Is it conceivable that kids are getting tired of reading about how much Nicole Richie weighs, who Nick Lachey is dating? This is difficult to fathom. But perhaps the desire for authenticity is penetrating the younger demographic. Maybe the adults of tomorrow are becoming more interested in each other’s lives than those in Hollywood. Maybe they are finding communication with peers on MySpace is more satisfying than reading about Lindsay Lohan.

Maybe the real world is becoming as fascinating as the celebrity world. If this trend is real, it could pose an enormous future challenge for the companies that rely on celebrities to promote their products. In fact, just [recently] Versace launched their new ad campaign, which eschewed Madonna for the old-fashioned fashion model. It also wouldn’t bode well for celebrity publicists. If fan magazines continue to shutter, publicists are going to have a lot fewer covers to negotiate for their star clientele. Teen People’s demise is probably just a speed bump on the Hollywood freeway of fame and fortune. Or maybe it is the beginning of a subtle shift of America’s youth toward more authentic content." 

The fires over in Anaheim Hills have flooded the air with smoke and ash. Here's what it looked like yesterday at around 5pm. 

Adrian (BHC) had a photoshoot/ stunt session with ELA Bikers so I shot by to check out the festivities and grab a few flicks. Be on the lookout for their new ad and viral video campaigns. 

Shit…I have a hard enough time balancing a skateboard so to see these dudes in action was definitely a trip. In the past few years I've watched my fair share of stuntin' and all I have to say is that this is definitely last on my list of "Things to try." LOL.

This month marks the first year anniversary of Heavy Hitters Magazine and while clearing out my HD I found this mock up of the very first cover that we planned on launching. Although the idea got shot down, it still remains one of my favorite designs (eventhough it still needed a lot of polishing). Since then, the mag has come a long way and without a loyal readership and a great staff it would have been nothing more than just another great idea. So a big thanks goes out to all that supported the mag - as well as those that hated on it as well. 

LOL..but seriously, as with any new venture there will be those that encourage your success as well as those that wish you nothing but the worst and it's essential to have a bit of both. The good will push you, and the bad will serve as the motivation necessary to master your craft.  

Twin & Takashi. Back in the day Twin was stuffing 22's on the CL and today he's on a whole new trip that's about to change the way you see car customizing. It was definitely good to catch up with him and I've always said that the way a man induldges in his hobby is the exact same way he handle his business, his friendships and his relationships. With that said, Twin'll always go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to customizing cars and he won't stop till it's done to perfection.

This is my excuse for not working out. LOL. 

Over the past weekend we wrapped up a shoot with one of three wide body Dodge Challengers that were present at SEMA. Of the three, this one here (owned by George over at JW Motorsports) seemed to be the crowd favorite and even though it's rockin' a set of 26-inch Asanti wheels out back it sits tight and actually looks right.  Look for more coverage on this car in an upcoming issue. 

WTF? Parking the Challenger with 26's besides Chargers on 22's shows you drastic difference between the sizes. The 22's look like training wheels now.

The gentlemen from Liberty Walk Co. Ltd, came all the way down from Japan to meet up with us at the office. Along with well wishes, they also brought along plenty of dope ass gifts as well as the craziest catalogs and promotional materials that I have ever seen. From hard cover books dedicated to their custom body kits for the Murcielago, down to towels, silver jewelry all the way to calendars and a custom Zippo lighter, Liberty Walk is on point and hitting the game hard. Currently, they're making big waves in Japan and they're also going to be one of the most talked about companies when it comes to body kits for exotic cars so trust me when I say that you'll be seeing much more of their cars and their customers in upcoming issue of Heavy Hitters.

Wataru Kato (The President) and I holding limited edition sterling silver "HH" emblems from Room 101 Silver (only two sets made). Wataru has one of the sickest and most well diversified car collections that I have ever seen and his Lamborghini will blow your mind. 

Lastnight we went over the design of the next cover and it's looking pretty damn good. In keeping with the times and the whole evolutionary process of design, we take a lot of time brainstorming and going over mock ups and thankfully enough I have Ti, Katia, Alan and Howard always looking over our shoulders and offering their advice and opinions. It takes a good team to create something good, but an ever greater team to keep things fresh. Thanks my ninjas.

Ti is the creative madman behind our titles like HH, Import Tuner, Traction, Siphon and others and he's always looks like he popped out of a Banana Republic or LL Bean catalog. LOL. 

I always tell my friends not to text and drive. Maybe I should take my own advice. LOL

If you couldn't already figure it out. I hit the tow hitch on a Chevy Silverado and let's just say that nothing happened to his truck and it left my front end with this gaping hole. So the lesson for today? Don't text and drive.
