I’m baaack.

Sorry for the lack of updates. You’ve heard it time and time again but keeping up on any blog isn’t as easy as one might think. Now the physical task of getting the job done isn’t bad at all… it’s really just the discipline of not setting it aside that becomes the bitch. Now to say that I’m busy is a complete understatement but it’s still no excuse for getting shit done so as always thanks for checking in and thanks for all the support. So after a successful attendance at the 2012 Shot Show it’s time to get caught up with the other mags and now that we’re putting the final touches on the next issues of HH as well as the 2012 Ultimate Wheel & Tire Guide it’s time to get back on the ball with Bound By Ink. As if the vicious cycle of deadlines wasn’t bad enough it’s now time to throw one more mag in the mix but I’m not complaining…..cause it’s going to be a fun ride. OK…so I’m kind of rambling on and on but there’s plenty to say and not enough time. Right now I’ve got an interview to do, a story to finish and then it’s time to plan out the rest of the month and then post more updates. Thanks again for checking in and don’t mind the mask.

The one thing that’s clearly evident about the Shot Show is the refreshing attitude found amongst vendors and attendees. Whereas many other trade shows seem to occupied by burnouts, has-beens and a lethargic demeanor, the Shot Show was filled with an energetic buoyancy that was both refreshing and a clear indication of a vibrant market and the fact that genuine enthusiasum trumps all.

Dinner started off with laughs about the cab driver and from there it evolved into our experience at the Shot Show followed by a long extensive talk about our personal experiences Sh*t Shows. LOL

1:30 am and finally updating the blog. Tomorrow’s definitely going to be a rough day.

Sorry for being MIA so long. It’s been a rough month with deadlines and new projects launching but aside from that there’s been a lot going on. We’re almost wrapped up with the 2012 Ultimate Wheel & Tire Guide as well as the next issue of HH and earlier today we successfully launched the premiere issue of RECOIL Magazine at the 2012 Shot Show. The launch of our new title was received with more than open arms and warm regards and to tell you the truth it’s a good feeling especially when one considers today’s rough economic climate. I’m also proud to be the Associate Editor for RECOIL Magazine and with Jerry Tsai navigating the waters it’s sure to be nothing but smooth sailing so congratulations to everyone that was involved in creating this new masterpiece. Even more interesting to mention is that the 2012 Shot Show is one hell of a show. If you’ve ever been to SEMA or CES then all I have to say is that the Shot Show is 10x more brutal when it comes to covering the show. The groundwork you have to cover  is insane and the footwork involved is pretty much indescribable and easily described as nothing less than savage – if you cover it in it’s entirety.

No Suitcasing…which is why we “backpacked” it. LOL.

It’s safe to say that we were steady mobbin’ the show in full gear….

The fellas from Jersey Shore always warned you about “grenade launchers” but not this one because this Colt’ll definitely help eliminate any “team meat balls.”

These new shotguns from Mossberg come complete with magazine feeders and they’ll be CA legal simply because of their classification as “pump” shot guns.

If you know a little about Perazzi guns then you already know that these are owned by distinguished gentlemen with deep pockets. Check the price tag…and this is far from their most expensive model.

The double cover of Bound By Ink Magazine features Kelly Eden in two very different striking covers and it hits newsstands soon so don’t miss out. Today I dropped by the office to go over some of the new projects we’re working on which includes the release of the highly anticipated Recoil Magazine. This magazine is sure to start off with a bang and when you see the paper quality and graphic design it’s sure to please. We also went over plans for more new magazines that we’re planning to release so hang tight and as always thanks for the love & support.

Got this package a few days ago and finally opened it up….

….and it was a super car pack of Hot Wheels from the big homie Albert Roxas.

If you’ve followed the blog long enough then  you already know who Albert Roxas is but if not – or you don’t remember – then let me refresh your memory. Albert is an OG in the game and he’s also the visionary behind a magazine called TuningWerks. His magazine was so advanced at the time (it came out about 10+ years ago) that if he sold it on newsstands today it would still remain relevant. Now I say that because to date, no other magazine has ever used the paper quality that he did. His paper stock was so thick that his 80 page magazine ran as thick – if not thicker than a regular 130+ page magazine. A definite heavyweight.

To top it off, the photography and design of TuningWerks was nothing short of stellar. From the negative space to the clean, crisp photography, I can tell you first hand that his magazine had many of us inspired and plenty scared as all hell. Years later, his magazine still remains relevant and I’ve seen it pop up in a few board meetings and I won’t lie when I say that I’ve brought it in myself a few times. So long story short, this is one of those moments where games recognizes game you gotta give respect where respect is due. On another note,  rumor has it that Albert’s getting ready to launch something new so remember the name.

Even back then Albert was the only guy that dealt with the exotic and luxury car market that would even mention Honda’s and SSR’s in his editors note. LOL….he definitely kept it real and never forgot his roots….that’s for sure.

Renown Wheels is working on a new project and you’ll see the fully finished product in the next issue of the Ultimate Wheel & Tire Guide. It’s definitely going to be the first of it’s kind and a definite conversation piece. The Wheel and Tire guide goes on sale in March so stay tuned and be on the lookout the authoritative guide when it comes to wheels and tires.
