I should have been able to end this post simply at the title…..but let’s repeat it again, This world is yours, but it owes you nothing.
It’s really that simple and it’s a black and white concept with absolutely no 50 shades of gray. This world we live in will give back to you what you put in…but you have to put in work. Throughout the years, I’ve met my fair share of people that live vicariously through the rich folks they associate with and for some odd reason everything seems cool in the beginning. Fast forward a few months to a year later and one of two things typically happen. 1) They’ve taken on an alter ego and act as if they’re the ones with money and (or) 2) Their financial situations have not gotten any better and they become disgruntled that they can’t live the same lifestyle that their friends have been paying for.
It’s a sad – yet comical – site to see and it leaves you wondering, “What were they thinking?” Did they really take the quote “Think Rich. Grow Rich” literally? The bottom line….you can think as positive as you want about success but the fact remains that you still have to put in work. Nothing in this world is free and you have to treat your friendships with those wealthier than you as a gift and not a given. You have to try to learn – and not earn – off those with greater knowledge than you and above everything else understand the difference between “being in the VIP” and “being a VIP” – because there is a big difference simply because one can afford to be there and you can’t afford to act like you can.
Remember, Effort = Results. Get it in.
