Happy New Years!!! We’re just seconds into the New Year and most of us are either piss drunk or dead asleep but I will tell you this, once we wake up from that good night sleep — or recuperate from that nasty hangover — we’ll take a look back at the past year and either reflect….or regret. For me personally, I’m looking back at 2009 with a smile because it was a good year but I’m ready to get 2010 kick started!!

With that said, 2009 is officially done and it’s not only the end of a year – but also the end of a decade. It seems as if Y2k was only stone throw away and since then things have changed drastically. The way we communicate has changed and so has everything else from the economy to the climate. Nowadays we’re less personal and we’d rather text rather than talk. Those who made fortunes in real estate (and weren’t smart) are now hurting, and if you look at the shifting of power in industries it’s crazy. 10 years ago Mac was a computer used mostly for the educational sector, but now they’re a computing powerhouse that’s a force to reckon with when it comes to power, design, corporate use and even fashion.

10 years ago, our fascination with celebrities was huge and back then I can vividly remember when MTV used to play music videos. Fast forward to present day and it’s all about us – the regular people. Now don’t get me wrong, we’ll forever be fascinated with celebrities but the power has shifted and nowadays the general public is more interested in reality TV simply because of the fact that we can better relate to them.

Just take a look back into time and trip because in this past decade a majority of us have traded in Taco Bell for Jack in the Box, Kmart for Target, AOL for Google  and VHS for BluRay.  Call it marketing, a shift in consumer demand or sheer hype but either way the one common denominator is that everything has “changed” and so should all of us. You should continually strive to do your best while  surrounding yourself with greatness and carry a postivive atttitude because nothings impossible.  If you haven’t already done so it’s time to kick shit into high gear so do yourself a favor and get rid of any negative influences because lifes too short to be bitter or second-rate. For 2010 stay relevant and stay real.
