Just got back in from Chronic Cantina where we met up with DOPE runners – Manu and JoJo, and what started off as a quiet meeting ended up being a distraction fest as the place filled up with plenty of prissy ass chicks with wine taste and Kool-Aid money. A few hours later the place got too packed and too loud so we talked outside until we were continually approached by security guards who probably noticed that there we were darker than Elmer’s glue – not a good thing in Costa Mesa. LOL…..but the really fucked up part was that the first security guard was some border brother who was darker than Kieth. Shit….he shoulda kicked himself out of the lot. (more…)
It’s always good to see a homie come up
I heard the homie HW Cruz got a new spot so I went by to check it out and damn the shit was clean. It’s a brand new loft that’s in a cottage-like setup complete with a huge wooden balcony, a crazy bedroom that opens up with dual wooden French doors, a sick surveillance system and to make a long story short….it’s not huge but the shit is more proper.
Earlier today I interviewed Victor Bono for a piece that I’m doing for Lowrider Arte and after sitting down with the OG from La Colonia (Watts) he shed some light on a lot more than art. His view on the recession, politics and government was pretty damn enlightening and it just goes to show you that you there’s a lot to learn from anyone so long as you’re willing to listen. Be on the lookout for the piece in an upcoming issue of Arte.
If you haven’t already heard of Mr. Bono, he’s one of only a few Coppersmiths that have mastered the art and his work speaks for itself. His attention to detail is immaculate and his contributions to the community are priceless. Want a piece? His waiting list is about 6 months.
…and I’m out. It’s off to Los Feliz and then later on tonight off to Costa Mesa.
Stopped by Top Stitch yesterday to get some more interior parts done and to meet up with a future feature and as soon as I walked in I ran across this new project that he’s working on with Mister Cartoon. It’s the Tap Out Impala and the interior is coming out sick.
Some thick ass leather. (more…)

A few issues back we featured Mr. Katu – the mind behind Liberty Walk Performance – and his arsenal of toys included a special production Lamborghini buggy that left readers in awe. But now that he’s got everyone’s attention he’s getting ready to introduce another buggy which was modeled after a Ferrari F40 and the end result is sure to become something that is truly amazing and mind blowing.
Yesterday morning I met up with his associate Mr. Yuta who I haven’t seen in about two years and we had an interesting three hour conversation about the industry, where it’s going, who’s doing what, as well as who can’t pay they’re bills. LOL…but on a serious note the meeting went well and we’ve got some very interesting – and exclusive – collabos coming soon so be on the lookout.
Check out these cigarettes from Japan…..Icene.
Time to sleep…….gotta be up in a few for a heavy day of meetings and I’m even thinking about wearing a janitors outfit since I’ll be cleaning up all kinds of sh*t. LOL.
Here’s a few more flicks from the 11-99 Foundation run. I have plenty of pics to post and lots of updates to run but it’s crunch time so it’s time to prioritize and get things in order. Sometimes I wish updating the blog was as easy as Twitter but it’s not so here’s a few snaps. Got a lot of sh*t to straighten out, meetings to run to and folks to meet that just flew in from Japan.
Here’s a flick of the new 2010 Chevy Camaro that received a hip replacement from Topo Customs. This widebody beast is owned by AC from Forgiato Wheels and when parked besides a stock bodied Camaro it’s pretty shameful as to how much wider and better looking this one here is. And whereas a stock Camaro is thin and frail, this one right here now supports a major set of hips as well as a huge set of Forgiato Piastra wheels. Speaking of huge…check out the rear Pirelli tires that measure in at 405/35/24! Sick.
Now some would argue that you could – or should – rock smaller wheels but everyone’s got their personal own personal taste so we’ll have to see what it looks like once someone breaks one out. More photos to come soon…..
If you recognize the beast it was our cover car from Issue no. 11: The Lion Productions BF Performance LP640 built by Vertu Motoring.
So i didn’t wake up as early as planned but in the end it didn’t really matter because the Lion Productions camp was out in full force handing out magazines and reppin’ hard at 8 a.m! LOL…thanks fellas. The 11-99 Charity event went off without a glitch and hundreds of exotics were out with other like-minded automotive enthusiasts. From a Zonda, two Enzo’s all the way to a De Lorean (which I heard caught on fire) and a Bugatti, the assortment of cars was great but nothing out numbered the bulls. Tons of Lambos rolled out but the one that shook the crowd and had ‘em talkin’ was the BF Performance LP. Here’s a few clips and a short video I took so be on the lookout for full coverage in an upcoming issue of Heavy Hitters Magazine. Thanks to everyone who came out and repped
So I’ve been going back and forth with Jay out from Washington about the upcoming fight and here’s one his replies….LMFAO….this guy had me pissin’ in my pants laughing. We’ll see what happens…
John, I’mma put you on BLAST!
Things John aka The Big Homie knows…
1. Cars…yessirrrr.
2. Successful lifestyle…yessirrrr.
3. Watches (PAM and IWC), yeap.
4. Stretching out your typical wide body Dodge Charger to make it extra stretched wide body…yeap. (Shout out to Topo. We all know you the best in town…sorry WORLD).
5. Food…yeap.
6. Sports, boxing specifically, HELL NO!!!
Man, you guys kill me. Just cause Manny Pacquiao is current champ, you think he has a chance against Floyd? Fool, you must be on some bullshit…dang, that gotts to hurt. For real, Manny barely beat Juan Marquez. And he even lost aka draw to Juan. So there’s no way he’ll beat Floyd. Trust me.
Floyd Mayweather is like Boulevard Burgers (on Ventura and Topanga Canyon) or better yet Hats Burgers and Manny is like…In and Out. Nothing wrong with In and Out, just not Boulevard Burgers or Hat Burgers.
Just watch big homie. Just watch.
Ohh, and pass this shit to all the Filipinos out there. Tell them H/H #1 Fan said this. And tell them to start walking on egg shells because Mayweather is coming and he’s taking Manny and everyone along with him down!!!
I wish my “comments” section was up but it’s getting worked on so don’t trip….it’ll be back up soon.
The steering wheel just got re wrapped with perforated leather and white stitching.
Last night I hit the spot (Top Stitch Upholstery) to check up on my car and it ended up a mean kick back. All the boys came through including Nik (VF Engineering) and Tom (EAS) and the next thing you know Pam was down the street so she shot through to start planning out a custom chair that she’s getting built.
WTF? I’ve never seen Anthony happier than in this picture here.
Pam’s been the homie for a long ass time and she’s held me down for years so it was good to see her again. I will tell you this though….as sexy as she is I gotta tell you that my interior might give her a run for the money….ahh ha ha
Ohhh yeah….check it. Napa leather, perforated leather, double diamond stitch, suede and a custom Top Stitch design. More pics to come later.
The reincarnation of the OG Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing was long overdue but after these images were released it’s pretty safe to say that it was worth the wait. Under the SLS AMG’s long hood is a V8 engine that displaces 6.3-liters. Output has been tuned to 563 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque and the extra power comes partially from all-new intake and exhaust systems and a rejiggered valve train.
Power flows through a SpeedShift 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and down an exotic carbon fiber driveshaft before meeting the road at the rear wheels. The gearbox features three driving modes for Comfort, Sport, and Sport plus, as well as an automated manual mode. Sixty miles per hour happens in a blistering 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 197 mph.
