The halls of the Grand National Roadster Show may not be filled with rows of exotics but please believe that there’s plenty of “Lambo” and “Ferrari” money all over this place.
There’s also no shortage of power.
Back in the glory days of sling shot dragsters all you needed to race was a pair of balls – that you were willing to lose or get bruised. Can you imagine having to drive this while straddling the transmission- fuck that. Back in 1970, racing legend Don Garilitis went through a transmission explosion that resulted in him losing half his right foot and there were hundreds that had gotten burned as a result of oil and fuel fires that blew back from the motor.
Today, you need a house mortgage to race let alone enter in the ranks.
If you’re an old school fool that’s true to drag racing then you’ll appreciate all the old drag cars and vintage setups. Long gone are the days of firey burnouts and now the showmanship in quarter mile is dead.
Can’t ever replicate this flavor.
Looks like it’s got hemorrhoids.
Who could ever forget Mongoose II? OK…I just dated myself
I always wondered how Takashi got those high-angle shots. LOL
All kinds of vintage racing relics and movie cars are on display and seriously there’s way too many to post up so if you wanna see more then you know the drill….go to the show or pick up the next issue of Heavy Hitters Magazine.

Good looking on the suggestion John, but man i gotta keep it real that’s a little over my budget LOL. I’m looking towards Nikon D90…
those are some wild rides, thanks for sharing john.
I think he’s using a Nkon (sorry don’t know what model) but if you’re looking for a DSLR then take a look at the Canon 5D….sh*t is dope.
What kind of DSLR is he using?…I’m currently in the market for one.
Hey! How come I wasn’t invited to the party!? Good to see Takashi out of his cast!
